OB Trust is established, with an eye to expansion, to oversee fund-raising, publicity, and recruitment of staff and students.
Its long-time chairman is Sir Spencer Summers, a Conservative MP, whose energy, enthusiasm, and influence does a great deal
to establish the Trust as an important and expanding force in British education.

| 1983 |
New Zealand hosts the first international OB conference celebrating
the rebuilding of the centre at Anakiwa and 21 years in operation.

OBS Lumut, Malaysia, is the site of the second international conference. |
| 1987 |
The International Secretariat is formed, following the mandate of the second international conference. |
| 1988 |
The third international conference is held at Cooperstown, New York, resulting
in the formation of an internationally-agreed mission statement.

| 1991 |
The fourth international conference is held at Aberdovey. Delegates from many of the organisation's 32 schools/centres in 18
countries on five continents attend the celebrations.

The fifth international conference is held at Hong Kong. It is agreed that the International Secretariat be staffed
on a full-time basis. Outward Bound Western Canada generously agrees to provide a home for the Secretariat.

January 16th marks the official opening of the new offices with Derek Pritchard as the firs Executive Director. |
| 1997 |
The sixth international conference is held in Thompson Island, Massachusetts, USA.
A council of representatives from each school is formed. The first OB International AGM is held.

Germany hosts the seventh international conference and second AGM in Krochlendorff. |
| 1999 |
The third AGM is held in Nottingham, UK, to coincide
with the UK Trust's biennial celebrations, and Prince Phillip handing
over the chairmanship of the UK Trust to Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew
accepts the role as Honorary International Trustee. Derek Pritchard
retires and Ian Wade steps in as the new Executive Director. |

Sabah hosts the eighth international conference and fourth AGM. |

Singapore hosts the 9th International Conference and 5th AGM, President of Singapore opens conference |

Currently the International office has one full-time staff member to oversee licensing and trademark matters for over 40 members, to publish newsletters and convene conferences, as well as manage a Program Review system.
