G. Kelly O'Dea - Chairman OBI
Kelly is Chairman/CEO of AllianceHPL Worldwide, a strategic advice and solutions firm headquartered in New York City. A well known global marketing executive, he previously served as Vice Chairman of IPG Advanced Marketing Services, President of Foote Cone & Belding Worldwide and President of Worldwide Client Service for Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide.

He has worked with top-level clients in virtually every category and has led many of the world's largest accounts including Ford, Unilever, Shell, Boeing, Kraft, PepsiCo, Microsoft, AT&T, Fujitsu, Samsung, Compaq and IBM. He also lived 10 years of his career overseas.

Educated in the USA and Europe, he received an International MBA with Distinction from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management and a BA (Political Science and Economics) from the University of Portland. He is a board director and trustee of both schools and has also served on several corporate and industry boards.

Kelly has been actively involved with Outward Bound for nearly 25 years as a board director, marketing advisor and host of several Outward Bound expeditions. Aside from serving on the OBI Board for 7 years, Kelly has been a Board member of OB USA.

Ian Wade
Ian has a varied background in Outward Bound as an instructor for Colorado OBS, program manager for Pacific Crest OBS and Vice President of Outward Bound USA responsible for risk management and program development. He was a founder and President of the American Mountain Guides Association, establishing accreditation and certification programs. Ian spent a year at Columbia University Business School in New York getting a graduate qualification in Not For Profit Management.

A passion for mountaineering and the profound impact it can have on people is what initially attracted Ian to Outward Bound. His mountaineering activities include numerous "big wall" climbs in Yosemite, the North Face of the Eiger, a first ascent in the Karakorum and being climbing leader of the Mt. Everest Peace Climb. He reached the summit, by the north ridge, along with 20 climbers from America, the Soviet Union and China- a world record number to reach the summit from one expedition.

Don MacRobert
Don is chairman of Outward Bound South Africa and is a patent and intellectual property lawyer. Don was founder chairman of the Lawyers for Human Rights movement in Pretoria.

Sakumzi "Saki" Macozoma
Sakumzi (Saki) Macozoma chairman of financial institutions STANLIB and Andisa Capital, a director of the Standard Bank of South Africa, the Standard Group, the Liberty Group, New Africa Investments Limited (NAIL), Murray and Roberts and Volkswagen SA. Mr Macozoma is also a significant shareholder in and deputy chairman of Safika Holdings.

Steve Carver
Chairman of the Win Win Group and a leading corporate training consultant in South Africa. Steve is a board member of "Connectivity" which is owned by CIDA University and CIDA Trust. He is a board member of Mpowered, a BEE Consultancy firm. He is also Executive Trustee of Outward Bound South Africa.

David Germond
David is a founder member and group-marketing director of thewinwingroup and within the team is taking the fusion of marketing, learning and communication to the people of South Africa and around the world.

David graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1991 with a Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama. Attended 3 years Contemporary Dance classes at Jazzart Dance in Cape Town. He studied Tenor Saxophone with Michael Skipper. High Flying Trapeze trained by Keith Anderson. Two years singing lessons with Lulu van der Walt. Attended Classical Mime Workshops by Christopher Goetsch. David spent four years playing a bizarre variety of characters on the main stages of our country from Romeo to Woof, Proteus to Redlights.

For the past 12 years, David has integrated his communication and creative implementation skills in the business communities around the world – with an obvious passion to connect with the diverse peoples of South Africa. His talent is storytelling.

Mike Boon
Mike Boon is the CEO of the Vulindlela Network which specializes in organizational transformation and growth. It uses experiential techniques to create the space for human interaction at a deep level and in so doing liberates incredible energy for the individual and the organization.

John Hanks
John has held many prestigious positions in the conservation field; Chief Executive, WWF-South Africa; First Executive Director of the Peace Parks Foundation; Director of Conservation International's TFCA Initiatives and Wilderness Program in Southern Africa and is currently a consultant to International Conservation Services.
