Outward Bound International supports schools in over 35 countries that offer adventure education programs designed primarily for young people.  The schools are non-profit organizations that provide financial aid to ensure youth from a diversity of economic and social backgrounds can attend.  The number of schools is constantly growing and seven new schools are currently in the process of starting.

The mission of Outward Bound schools worldwide is to: -
"To help people discover and develop their potential to care for themselves, others and the world around them through challenging experiences in unfamiliar settings."

Outward Bound International is an association of the Schools that is charged, "To protect and enhance the reputation of Outward Bound schools worldwide."

Outward Bound International carries out its mission by:

• Arranging for Program Reviews to be conducted regularly at all Centers.
• Licensing new Outward Bound schools after consideration of their business plans.
• Protecting the trademark of Outward Bound.
• Providing resources to assist all Outward Bound schools operate with best practices.
• Organizing conferences for Outward Bound practitioners worldwide.
• Raising funds to support Outward Bound International operations.
• Organizing conferences for Outward Bound practitioners worldwide.
• Raising funds to support Outward Bound International operations.

Donations to Outward Bound International
Dues paid by schools support part of the work of Outward Bound International; however, donations are required to assist many schools commence operations and maintain high quality programs.
