The Global Facilitation Skills Training Research Project, Phase 1

The Global Facilitation Skills Task Force (GFTF) was created in order to support and develop the training of facilitation skills amongst Outward Bound schools around the world. One of our initial goals is to find out more about what is happening locally at each school, in order to create a picture of facilitation skills training worldwide. This initial survey will help us to identify where the richest resources of facilitation skills training are and how they could potentially be shared with other Outward Bound schools who may, in turn, be rich in other skills such as risk management or program design. Long term, the GFTF hopes to improve the consistency and quality of facilitation skills used by all instructors at Outward Bound.

The Facilitation Skills Training for New Instructional Staff Questionnaire
The GFTF is asking Program Directors, Staff Trainers and/or Directors of Training to take approximately an 1 hour to complete the attached questionnaire. In addition, please see the checklist at the end of the questionnaire to ensure you have returned all the necessary information. It is important that we receive the questionnaire by Sept 1st to process the data for the World Conference in October.

Please return this questionnaire and attachments by September 1st, 2002 to Cathy Bernatt and Rebecca Bear:
