Description The Curriculum is the Course. It involves every aspect of an Outward Bound Program including its initial design and planning, its delivery and the final assessment of its success in achieving its objectives. The aim is to provide information that will help us to design and deliver courses of outstanding quality that exceed participant expectations.

This portal covers the assessment of participant needs and their current mental and physical condition. It deals with desired course outcomes and learning objectives. It includes course and program design and the selection of appropriate activities. It covers lesson planning and site preparation.

Staff to participant ratios are also included as is the allocation of equipment, transport and other resources including any necessary support. Finally it covers all aspects of course and participant evaluation.

Everything that a participant experiences during an Outward Bound Course is part of the Curriculum, including unintended consequences, which is why it needs to be continually reviewed and revised.
